Being a nurse for over 30 years has been a both privilege and a journey in which I helped thousands of people living and dealing with disease. Sometimes they get better, and unfortunately often they didn’t. But one thing that kept coming up for me was that most of the treatments being administered revolved around treating the symptoms, not the patients underlying disease. If I was going to manage to NOT be one of those patients in a hospital bed then I needed to work on disease prevention long term.
So began my 20 year journey around looking at all the different ways that our bodies become switched into ‘disease making machines’ – or as they say…. Become troubled by ‘dis-ease.’
I now believe that lasting good health begins at a cellular level. Our cells are the building blocks of our bodies, so if they aren’t healthy, how can we expect everything else to follow suit?
